Back To School

We are very excited to be back at school and to share a poem by our first published author of the 2008-09 school year: Anastasia, Gr. 10

Turkey Wing Faith

I am from tissue
from Kleenex and Scott
I am from the woods so tall and strong
The rose that bloomsand grows
I am from a tree
To the south of me

I am from music and lyrics
that we sing all night long
But I'm also from Rick and Ellean
I am from the hard-working and wise
From do your best and don't give up
I am from little faith
But I believe Someone made us

I am from the Manley line
Old but still great and proud
From turkey wings and collard greens
From turkey wings and collard greens

I am from the family room
where we go to center ourselves
I am from those moments that
live on forever

You're My

by
B.J.

She's my wife
She's my life
She's my angel from the sky

She's my heart
She's my soul
I'll be with her when I get old

She's my god
She's my great
The one I love
She's my babe

She's my better half
We walk the same path
She makes me smile; she makes me laugh

She's my love
She's my booby
Though thick and thin
She'll be with me

She's my day
She's my night
I hold her long and I hold her tight

She's my daylight
She's my perfect day
She's my gentle breeze
She's my beautiful babe

Final Project

On your individual blogs, include all topics and at least 5 images; you may write in prose or poetry

Who my friends are
How I spent my time away from school
My image in high school
My favorite style of clothing
My saddest memory in high school
My happiest memory in high school
The person who made the biggest difference to me in school
Something I wish I could change if I could go back in time
Is there anything you need to say to someone before the year ends
I’ll remember one member from this class more than any other because
I’ll remember this year in high school as

Gossip

Everyone’s been in it.
There’s no way around it.
Someone’s going to find a way
No matter how hard,
They’ll find a way to spread it.
We’ll have to live with it until
The day we die.
All the lies and the snobs who
Bring it up, oh they’ll try their
Hardest to break you.
Doesn’t that suck?
